In
addition to providing emergency medical services, Warren County EMS is also
the primary rescue agency for Warren County. These services include high
angle rescue, vehicle extrication, and technical rescue. Our vehicle tasked
with handling these types of emergencies is Rescue 202. Rescue 202 is a
Freightliner© FL60 commercial chasis with an Excellance© heavy rescue body.
It features a Whelen© LED/Halogen warning package and a PowerArc© scene
lighting tower. It is kept at Station One and is staffed by on duty EMTs and
Paramedics.

Rescue 2 is equipped with a wide
variety of the latest equipment including three new Hurst®
rescue tools, and Res-Q-Jacks®
used in vehicle extrication. A heavy duty air compressor mounted in the
forward compartment provides power for pneumatic tools and air bag devices
while a 9kw generator powers other tools and lighting.
Numerous
other tools and equipment used for varying types of rescues are also
standard equipment on Rescue 2. These range from items such as reciprocating
saws and other hand tools used to gain access to a patient, to a Stokes
basket Sked stretcher. These special types of stretchers are used to transport patients in high
angle situations such as cliff rescues. For night time situations, a
top-mounted lighting tower provides scene illumination in support of rescue
operations.
